Karmic justice

I was flicking through the blogosphere this morning instead of attending to the stated reason for my absence from work (going to the bank), and I decided to take a quiz "which operating system are you". This was the result:

"You are Windows 98. You're a bit flaky, but well-liked. You don't have a great memory, but everyone seems to know you. A great person to hang out with and play some games."

Fuck me. Serves me right. A link to the original quiz:

Heh heh I got Slackware Linux :-) At least you're not Windows ME!

Julie - damned by faint praise. Still - after my efforts at a work function last night, the associated '98 description is pretty accurate. Groan.

Lyn,

Did you notice that the quiz seems to be on a 2003 post? From the description I'd be quite happy to be Windows 98.

Yes - I did notice the age of the post (and the characterisation is accurate enough, but I abhor MS in all forms, not only because of its cultural and capital colonialism but also because of its corporate boringness and hideous conventionality. Windows 98 is no exception to this conception.

Oddly enough, I got:
"You are Apple Dos. Simple and primitive with good understanding of the common man. You're still a work in progress, but a good start.

Which is the only OS I ever really learned (y'know, apple BEFORE Macs?).

Oh, perhaps I understand the common man, but I've never quite been able to be him. On the other hand, maybe I couldn't stand myself if I was.

I'm happy, then. 98SE is a sentimental favourite, so you pass, Lyn, just, just enough.
